Our Story:

Special Projects Group was founded by combat veteran John Buffin, who served over 12 years in the United States Marine Corps with the 1st Force Reconnaissance Company and I & II Marine Expeditionary Force, Special Operations Training Group," Special Missions Branch".

John provided lead detail security operations on Dr. Henry A. Kissinger's protective detail, from 1996 - 2001 providing protection, both domestic and international, for Dr. Kissinger and his family. In 2002 during the Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, John and SPG provided protection to the NBC president and other high profile celebrities. Subsequently, SPG Agents became part one of the first teams deployed to Afghanistan, conducting multiple tours, providing security for high level Afghan and US government officials.

SPG then revisited the private security sector, providing the lead advance agent for a high profile visit by a major celebrity to Israel. SPG had agents on the ground in Iraq, providing high level dignitary protection, in one of the most highly threatened, mission critical environments worldwide to date. SPG subsequently returned to Afghanistan in order to manage the security project for government agencies providing high-threat protection government officers.
